COSHH is the 'Control of Substances Hazardous to Health' and under the 'Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002', employers need to either prevent or reduce their workers' exposure to substances that are hazardous to their health.
COSHH training is required to allow individuals or employees to identify, measure and control the exposure to harmful substances. A COSHH training course should provide the following: 1. An understanding of how and which substances can harm your health, 2. Definitions and Knowledge of exposure limits, 3. An understanding of exposure levels and how to conduct a COSHH risk assessment, and 4. An understanding of 'safe systems of work' and practical control measures.
